Hi,
I'm transferring from a Digital Camcorder to my computer using ULead Video Studio 5.0 DVD to capture. When I start, it asks me for a template and so far I've chosen the DV(NTSC) template. When I'm done capturing, it has the command "Make a Movie" and also asks for a template. Here also, I selected the DV(NTSC) option and it produces an .AVI file. The quality of these files is superb except, whenever there's moderate to fast motion, the moving objects edges blur (actually more of a streaking than a blur). What's casing this? Should I be using different templates. Ultimately, I convert these files through TMPGEnc for VCD.
Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Robert

Sounds like you have a field order problem.
I have a Sony TRV-140. When capturing a video via firewire, the field order is reversed. Don't know if this problem is with sony digital camcorders only.
If you use TMPGEnc, select field order B to encode the captured avi.
Or the field order of the captured avi can be changed with Ulead Video Studio5.0. Save the avi using the "custom save template" and under options select field order B.
Hope this helps.
Still searching to find a better solution... anyone out there!
Chas
