I am having a lot of problems trying to make DVDs fit into a DVDR. I have no problems ripping DVDs that are under 4.5GB, but I have been unable to split the larger ones or to compress them. (Well I am able to split or compress them, but I'm unable to play them using a standalone dvd player and, in most cases, I can't even burn the files using DVD Prassi or Nero). I've tried most of the tools and guides on this site without success.
My conclusion is that it is not worthy to waste time with DVD9s. They are not worth the effort....
Can anybody help?
Thanks

Visit www.doom9.org. It has a great guide for ripping DVD-9 to DVD-5 DVD-Rs. I've had lots of success with the info.
Good luck -
Thank you guys!
Somehow I managed to rip a dvd9 and then edited it with Spruceup. Now I am in the process of burning it using Prassi, but it's taking hours. It's really strange because I've burned dvd5s before and the burning was completed in less than an hour, but now it is burning terribly slooooww.
Do you have any idea why it's that so? -
I believe it has something to do with the ASPI drivers.... I'll try an update and see if it can run any faster (I upgraded the RAM with no result)...
