  1. when ever i use the TMPGEnc to convert avi files, it always gives me an error and says that it can not open or unsupported when i try to convert smr avi files, or the ones that are like taped at the movie theater, i know i have done it before because i have some vcds of them, but the converter will only allow me to do divx avi files. Am i doing something different then i was before or is it not possable to convert them??

  2. Do you have an smr patch? If not, search for one and try installing it. This may solve your problem.

Okay, call me an idiot but what is this SMR Patch... I have read about SMR AVIs here but I always thought it was in reference to the ripper "SMR" known for ripping new theatrical releases and then burning his initials or call sign "SMR" into the video.

Am I way wrong? Whats the deal and where can I get this "patch"?

  5. SmR,or shadowrealm, is the name of the crew famouz for bringing you quality releases at affordable pricez. You need their smrpatch.zip (the mpg4 hacked, microcrap, etc) codec (compressor/decompressor, encoder/decoder) in conjunction with their releases. Usually when their stuff is posted they include the patch. When in doubt do a search on google under 'smr'.
