Hi,
I am encoding Shrek.....and virtualdub says the frame rate is 29.976
Which template do i choose in TMPGEnc......do i choose the closest one ( If the video source fps is 29,970 load VideoCD (NTSC).mcf ) as it says in the guide.......
Or do i choose ( If the video source fps is anything else just load NTSC if you live in US or Japan and PAL if you live anywhere else. )........?
I live in the UK so it would be PAL......
I hope i have explained that right...?
Thanks
Ade

Because your source video is NTSC then you should create an NTSC VCD by selecting the VideoCD (NTSC).mcf. Selecting a PAL template would mean that the video would be shortened (25fps rather than ~30fps) but the audio would remain constant. This would have the effect of the audio going slowly out of synchronisation with the video as the film went on.
If your player doesn't support NTSC then you're stuck with a fiddly NTSC -> PAL conversion.

Sorry my fingers are weird today.......i meant to say that my framerate is 23.976 not 29.976

Same applies
Standard NTSC has a framerate of 29.97, NTSC Film has a framerate of 23.976.
