SVCD in DVD standalone problem

This is my first svcd that i'm trying to make and i keep messing it up. I have a 22min video at 720x400 at around 2.3 or so mb a sec. The video works excellent up until i try to fast forward. I can fast foward with no problems in PowerDVD, but when it comes to my Sony dvp-s560d it gets shot to hell. The video becomes corrupt and i have to restart the thing to make it look better again. I have used centropy releases on the dvd player and have been able to fastfoward and rewind without any problems. What am i doing wrong? i'm using tmpgenc on film setting because of fps and regular audio extract as stated in the divx conversion section. Can someone help me please

forgot to mention, the divx is in 720x400. I want to keep this aspect ratio.
