  1. I have a 5 min movie I made in iMovie. Several PC users want copies of it. I have exported as a QT MOV file (sorenson codec) but they can't seem to play it smoothly or not at all.

As I have stated, I am a newbie to all this. What is the best way to make a file for my PC user friends to view a clean version of my project? I thought it would be MPEG but I can't figure out how inthe heck to convert a .MOV file to MPEG. I looked in the export dialogue box in OT but it didn't list MPEG as an export option. I am open to ideas.

    Thanks,

    Matt

To export to mpeg from Quicktime Pro you need Toast Titanium installed. Then you will be able to export as Toast ready Video Cd.

Thanks, I was wondering about that. Looks like an investment I need to make. But, in the mean time, is their any other way, as a Mac user, I can make my movies viewable on a Windows machine?

Windows can read .mov files too. Just export to Quicktime.

They seem to read it if it is in Sorenson, but very jerky. Not sure why that is. Any ideas?

I'm not sure about the jerkiness. Try using another codec and see if the problem remains.

Sorensen on the Mac requires at least a G3 233 to playback properly, so it could be that their machines are too slow to handle it. Try another codec. You'll get bigger file sizes with some others though. Try motion jpeg and see if that works.
