  1. I'm having a problem splitting an mpeg into three parts using TMPGEnc. The first part works fine, but the second and third don't. It's not freezing up, it just can't find video from the other parts; it seems to think that the original video was trimmed by the first cut (and I've checked, the file is fine). The editing screen shows the full length of the video, but looses the ending when it goes to edit.

For example, if I make the first section from 00:00 to 20:00, and try to make any other portions from 20:00 onwards, it gives me 0min files. If I make a cut from 15:00 to 40:00, it gives me a 5 minute file, which cuts out where the first segment I made ended. I've given the output files names which are completely different from the original source file, so there should be no confusion there.

I've tried re-intalling TMPG, but that doesn't work. Any other ideas?

It sounds like you are basing later cuts on the results of the first cut. Ergo, since your original was reduced to 20 minutes by the first cut, the second cut from 20 minutes on would be "0" length (since there ISN'T anything beyond 20 min anymore), and a cut from 15 to 40 would INDEED be a 5 minute cut (same reason as above). Try saving using a different file name.

  3. I did give the output files completely different names. And I know the original is still intact, as I can still view the full 60 minutes in Media Player, as well as in the editing window of TMPG. I've even tried moving the first cut out of the same folder as the original file. Still the same problem.

The error is definitely with TMPG. It's doing the same thing, even with files I've not opened/edited with it before. It now thinks it's truncated every file to the first 21 minutes. Deleting and re-installing hasn't worked. Has anyone else encountered this problem at all, or is my computer posessed?
