  1. Hey People,
I've posted about this before but I didn't get any replies. Maybe I wasn't specific enough. But I really do have a problem with the volume I'm getting on my (X)Vcd's. I'm using cladDVD to rip my dvd's, and them TMPGE to encode. When I do this the volume is very low it hardly registers. Now I tried changing the audio setting in TMPGE and I'm changing the volume to 400% (this is as high as it goes) and Normalizing the volume to 100%. This becomes a little better after I encode it, but nowhere near the original volume of the DVD.
I Have tried 'Bakers' method using Smart Ripper to rip the dvd's and then dvdX with Panasonic encoder, and the volume is fine, but the picture quality isn't as good as making Xvcd's thru TMPGE. Is there a setting I should change in cladDVD?? I have Dolby Digital Downmix checked and Demux All tracks under Mpeg Audio. Should these be at different settings?? Or is there a better way of making Xvcd's other than what I'm already using?
And which is the best program to convert my vob files after I've ripped them with Smart Ripper so that TMPGE will recognize the files.
Please guys.....any help with be truly appreciated.
    Thanks guys......
    Pnut

I use SmartRipper then run vob's through DVD2AVI..this makes two more files ...a wav file and a d2v file that TMPGe can read to use the vobs...
Then I use TMPGe to encode. Never had a prob with Video or Audio..

  3. Under the audio options of DVD2AVI you'll find an option called Normalize. Set this to 85-95 and it should increase the volume to a decent level.
