    Do you have to erase it first before writing over it? I'm confused. None of my programs will let me erase the DVD-RW disc

    If you have the Pioneer A-03 then it came with either the Prassi software (USA) or equivelent.
    Run in full mode (not wizard mode). There is a button in Prassi that says "Erase DVD-RW)".

    I'm sure the European software has the same thing.
