  1. Hi
I am very new to this, I have just made a 15 minute film of a wedding with just studio 7 software. I made a vcd with nero 5.5+ and am pretty pleased with the results, but i used a music cd for intro music and a different cd track at the end the track at the end did not burn onto the vcd, so i made a svcd and it was ok, but the svcd does not play on my old computers dvd rom is there an obvious ansewer as to why vcd and svcd handle cd music differently

    thanks

    maggie

The answer you seek is here :

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcd.htm

The Video CD specification requires the multiplex-ed mpeg-1 stream to have a cbr of less than 174300 bytes (1394400 bits) per second in order to accommodate single speed cd-rom drives. The specification allows for the following two resolutions :
    • 352 x 240 @ 29.97 Hz (ntsc sif).
    • 352 x 240 @ 23.976 Hz (film sif).
The cbr mpeg-1, layer II audio stream is fixed at 224 kbps with 1 stereo or 2 mono channels. It is recommended to keep the video bit-rate under 1151929.1 bps .

you don't need a dvd rom for svcd - but - the mpeg2 codec is required

    go here : http://www.elecard.com/download/

download the mpeg2 player (codec included)
