Hi, I am considering buying the Pinnacle Linx USB capture device, and had a few questions. Yes I've read that PCI is the prefered method, but still I'd like opinions on the Linx. Also, I am running WindowsXP, cpu is Athlon 900mhz.

1. Would the USB port bottleneck captures? I believe my KT7 motherboard has USB 1.1 . I plan on capturing uncompressed and then converting.

2. Pinnacle says the Linx will capture up to 352x240. Would this be more of a limitation of the hardware or of the software? In other words, should I be able to capture at a higher resolution using different software then they supply? Might it be driver-controlled?

3. I'm wondering how the audio capture is handled. In the past I've tried 2 different tv/capture cards, and everytime my audio would be out of sync with the video (only when capturing, not with just viewing). These cards used the line-in from my soundcard for audio input. I was once told this was actually a bug in my Creative Labs AWE64 soundcard drivers. I was wondering if by using a USB capture device that also has RCA audio-in, is the soundcard bypassed therefor I won't have this sync problem? Of course I would upgrade my soundcard if it's ALWAYS going too effect all my captures, but only if there's no other way around it.

4. I've seen past posts about a 4GB filesize limit, but I don't know if this will effect me. I'm running WindowsXP using NTFS file system.

Other then that, I'm just looking for some Linx owners personal opinions of this thing. Thanks all so much!
