philips 701 svcd problem

I have a philips 701 standalone, when playing svcd's the audio is out of sync.
When pressing the pause button on the remote 5 or 6 times ( quickly ) the sync problem fixes itself.

This only works with certain svcd's ( oceans 11, LOTR ) but doesn't with others ( bandits )

Vcd's play perfect.

Is there a permanent fix to this problem ?

The player is 12 months old.

Have you had any feedback on this issue. I have the same problem. Philips does not have a solution (customer service). But I wouldn't have anticipated that since I think there's not enough experience with SVCD's.
