I demultiplex with TMPGEnc a SVCD to a SVCD with VCD Header. Because a want to play it on my DVD player that don't support SVCD.
But after three seconds the (S)VCD freeze. It don't play anymore.

The vcd header trick may not work on all dvd players. If so you must convert to vcd.

SVCD "menus" only work on certain DVD players with certain "burning" routines or engines. Test write a few programs with different routines such as NTI CD writing routine or ULEAD or change to LEGACY SVCD meny or standard. I tried the same SVCD->VCD trick and got the same result as you did.. It played maybe a second of video then the image self destructed into a lot of green blocks mixed with the video and it froze.. pretty cool effect, but not as good as the movie would have been
I used Nero to burn as a VCD.. It actually didn't even ask me about standard compliance. My DVD player is the Sony DVP-NS300.. plays standard VCD's and even xVCD's great.
