To burn VCDS is it best to use an internal CD writer drive or use an USB external CD writer drive, or does it not matter, thank you for any help.

It should not matter if your burning program and your hardware can make a valid disk without buffer underruns.
A speedy hard disk and USB 2 or firewire burner should do fine. The new technology (BURN PROOF etc) might help also.Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
