Nope, my PS2 cannot play VCDs. Which is annoying given that the PS1, Dreamcast, Z64, Turboduo, 3DO, CDI, and Saturn all could.

I especially like the Dreamcast for this lately... it's like an Apex player. You can throw in a CD-R data disc full of mpeg files, and as long as you added the player to the root directory of the disc (takes up a couple of megs per disk, no real loss), you can play them right out of the shell. It's very nice for testing purposes.

  3. Your kidding right. gypplay and dreamcast barely handle mpegs - An d setting up the mpegs so that they can play smoothly is pointless because you end up with low bitrate crappy videos - the only thing this is remotely good for is crappy quality porn vids you can download - otherwise Dreamcast is a great videogame machine
Ok - you got me - i dont know anything - you happy now!

  4. Actually there is a few other vcd players for dreamcast(not free though). 1 comes with a remote and plays vcd perfectly. Not that it matters, there is a geat divx player for it too.

  5. He is talking about Dream VCD Player. It is commercial and cannot or atleast has not been ripped because it needs the remote to work. Not many people have used it. It's about $30 IIRC which is a little pricey unless it plays SVCDs, and I don't beleive it does.
