I have a problem with dvd drive compatability, I just bought the TDK 40x12x48 burner to replace my TDK 16x12x40, I have a SONY DVD 16x drive and a lite-on 16x dvd drive, I cannot get the SONY to work with the new burner, well what happens is I can only get the computer to see both drives in one hook up configuration and it always sees the DVD drive but doesn't see the burner well enough to work, or it will see it ok and then quit working at some point, the CMOS sees something but the letters are all scrambled, when I try using the lite-on drive, again it only works in one configuration (ie. slave/master and cable position) the MOS sees both but will allow the burner to only work in PIO mode with the DVD in DMA mode, I have a pioneer DVD drive coming and will try that but if it also doesn't work I may have to go get the SONY burner and give it a try, any other sugjestions would be appreciated, has anyone else had a simular problem. PS the burner by itself works fine as long as it is on the end of the cable and that may be the problem with the sony, the only way I can get it to work is with the TDK as master and on the first connector with the SONY on the end connector as the slave, If I put the TDK on the end connector as MASTER the CMOS will not see anything connected to the first connector.[/quote]
