  1. Hi.... I wonder if anyone can help me out here.. i`m trying to convert some captured VHS material to mpeg2 using Vegas Video 3, and the original capture even though not the greatest of quality is absolutely fine.. now the problem comes when I edit all the material in Vegas Video 3 or Videofactory 2, and then render the final scene to an MPEG2 format for authoring onto DVDr. I get these AWFUL horizontal lines whenever theres motion on the screen, and its driving me nuts. A friend thought it might be because I was trying to convert a 384 x 288 to a dvdcompliant 720 by 480, but I`ve tried converting to a lower but dvdcompliant screen size and I get the same problem... This is only when I export out, the originals play fine no probs at all. Does anyone have any clue to what im doing wrong??? I know it seems strange to have vhs to dvdr at a low screenres, but it makes life so much easier to view the old home movies from DVD.

I have a screenshot of what i mean at this link.... www.btinternet.com/~scmdesign/lines.jpg

Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Kind Regards

  2. I have the Terapin VCD recorder and its a heck of a lot easier and cheaper to use this with Mpeg1 then spending all the money trying to do it with DVD-Rs right now.

If you want to make DVDs, dont use the computer. Get a stand alone DVD recorder or a Terapin VCD recorder. 80 mins a disc is perfect for me!
