Hi,
I mentioned my TMPGEnc problem a little while and no one was able to offer any suggestions. I've got a couple of more details so I'll resurrect it again...
On most of the AVIs I encode, TMPGEnc dies anywhere from 20 to 40 frames before it reaches the end of the file. The generated MPGs burn and play fine so it hasn't been too much of a problem except that I can't batch encode.
Most of my files are ~48 minute DIVXs but my latest problem is with a 5 second intro I'm trying to add to the beginning of my SVCDs. I've noticed now that it seems to be the fading to black that kills it.
Details:
* TMPGEnc 12a to 12i does this.
* I've converted the shorter DIVXs to HUFFY and it still does this.
* I've changed the 'detect scene change' and 'closed GOP'.
* I've been using the 'noise' and 'sharpen' filters.
* Installed Kristal DIVX drivers - no change.
* WinNT4 sp6. PIII800 512Mb.
Symptom is TMPGEnc just goes away. No error message, nothing in the log, no indication of why it dies.
Please please please help me! I'm losing my sanity with this! I thought it must be some kind of AVI driver problem b/c noone else seems to be having problems with TMPGEnc and once in a while it doesn't die...
ANY suggestions appreciated! Thank you.
