  1. Hi
Iam following the Guide "How to make Still picture VCD with VCDEasy". When I selct only simulate, there were no errors. The moment when I select Simulate and Burn (BIN output file), Iam getting this message. I am trying to make 40 pictures(TIFF foramt) to Still picture VCD. The Log generated by the VCDEasy is shown below. Please help me to resolve this.
    Thanks

  2. You\ll have to get your TOC down to at least 79 minutes before it will work.

  3. Hi
Can you please tell me how to do that.
Is it a setting in the VCD Easy?
With the default setting I couldn't even burn one file available in the VCD Easy/Extra/PhotoVCD2-PAL.mpg
Can you please help me to reolve the problem.
    Thanks

  4. According to your posted info, the length of the file is ..1 hr 22min 50 secs so you will have to cut it in 2 so that the TOC does not exceed the 80 minute maximum.
Use AviChop or Virtualdub to cut it.

Actually, in terms of VCDEasy, 1:22:50 is 1 minute 22.5 seconds. Assuming you are trying to burn to an 80 minute CD-R, they have 360,000 blocks. 6200 blocks should fit no problem.

Are you trying to burn to a CD-R that is not empty? The "CD-R Capacity (00:00:00, 0 blocks)" might be trying to tell you the disc is not empty -- try a different disc.

Does VCDEasy indicate your ASPI layer is valid?

40 MPEG stills should fit any CD-R no problem.

  6. Hi
    Thanks for your replies.
I tried on the CD-RW, which is empty. I first erased and tried, same result.
    Today I tried one thing:
I added the file VCDEasy\Extra\PhotoVCD2-NTSC.mpg, which is available from the VCD_EASY software, to make VCD. That file video is not greater than 1 minute.
    Still same problem
I got the messages as follows, All are started with Yellow triangle.:
    initializing libvcd 0.7.12 [cygwin/i686]

this is the UNSTABLE development branch!
use only if you know what you are doing
    see http://www.hvrlab.org/~hvr/vcdimager/ for more information

    adding sequence #0, E:\users\chakri\video tools\VCDEasy\Extra\PhotoVCD2-NTSC.mpg
strange (possibly non-compliant) user_data seen... (not a problem, usually a sign of TMPGEnc)

I think there is some basic problem. I can provide full log report, if needed. Please help me to resolve this. Is it good to re-install the full software once again?
    Thanks

If you are using a CD-RW and it's not empty prior to VCDEasy/CDRDAO starting a burn, it will prompt you asking if you want to erase it.

Have you tried just creating the disc image (bin/cue), closing VCDEasy, and burning the bin/cue with another program? Your problems are probably due to CDRDAO, not VCDEasy itself -- VCDEasy is a front-end for other programs, CDRDAO being the burning portion.

Download the demo of CDRWin from www.goldenhawk.com and try burning the bin/cue with that. If it can't burn it (Goldenhawk invented the bin/cue format), then you have something seriously wrong with your system (a corrupt ASPI layer for example). You could also try NERO, but it's bin/cue support is spotty at best and is really no indication of bin/cue support/ability.

  8. the last set of errors that you posted are normal, did you let it keep running or did you cancel it after that, I get the same messages and it runs through like it should.

I agree about create the image file first. In the first screen that opens in VCDEasy, selct the file(s) you want to burn, make sure that burn and simulate are both UNCHECKED.

after thats complete, go to the tools tab then to CDRDAO and use the burn .toc or .bin file to burn the image you just made. use a cdrw and you can keep trying if it fails without having to write the image file over and over.

  9. It looks to me, I had a problem, while generating the BIN file itself by the VCDEASY.
    I had done small experiment:-
    1. Selected VCD2.0
    2. Loading the VCD2-PAL.mpg file into VCD EASY.
    2. GO pressed.
Then It says VCDxBuild.exe execution succeeded.
I tried to convert the BIN file to MPG by using VCD GEAR. But It says "Could not locate MPEG stream".
I tried the BIN sample available in the vcdeasy.org site, that converts to MPEG by VCD GEAR without any problem.
Can any one tell me what could be wrong.

  10. try a different driver, go with the Generic SCSI-3/MMC-raw

  11. I think the driver SCSI will come into picture, for the burning only.
Before burning itself, I had problem in generating the bIN file.

  12. Finalyy I succeeded to create VCD with only VCDEASY.
    Couple of things I did to make it work;
    1. Only BURN Option is set.
    2. The Options in CDRDAO
Allow Overburn, Eject CD after writing, Force Execution selected.
NOTE: Both options SIMULATE and BURN should not be selected.
