  1. I've just spent the last week trying to convert a 3 disc svcd version of 'UNFAITHFUL' to dvdr.
I have read all the tutorials back to front on vcdhelp but still haven't really got anywhere so this is one last desperate attempt to maybe find some kind person here who could find the time to explain this procedure simply so that i may even understand .
What i have done so far is copy the three AVSEQ01.dat files to my computer and use TMgenc to merge them together..i have tried using DVDIT AND SPRUCEUP to author but i keep getting a message saying 'Resoultion not supported for dvd' i then used dvdpatcher to change the header to 352x576..this still did not work????
When i preview the movie now half the screen is corrupt with lines running accross and when i try to burn this onto a disc i now get a differnt message 'EACH GOP HEADER MUST BE PROCEEDED BY A SEQUENCE HEADER'???
Someone on this forum also said that i may have to re-encode the movie to 352x576...i haven't a clue on how to go about this and do i have to start at the beginning again and encode each cd seperatley and then merge or merge all together first and then re-encode??
Please can someone find the time to help..as i did say before i have been reading all the info on this site for a week now and i am at a loss as to what i am doing wrong..thanks for any help.

If they are joing corrupted, I would put all the source files in the same directory, and renumber them sequentially, ie avseq01.mpg, avseq02.mpg, etc.

Then open up DVD2AVI, show ALL files, open the first one, they'll all load then, then use DVD2AVI to frameserve it to TMPG to re-encode it. (like you would for ripping a DVD and setting the vob's up - see under DVD Ripping Section for how to make a Project file in DVD2AVI - a d2v extension).

Then you can set your SOURCE RANGE's on the files and encode it down to the number of discs you wish.

open them all joined in dvd2avi then frameserve into virtual dub to change the res to 352x576 than frameserve into cce to encode.

  4. 'EACH GOP HEADER MUST BE PROCEEDED BY A SEQUENCE HEADER'???
---this message comes up because a sequence header is needed...

If you use TMPGENC, you have the option to set Output interval to sequence header to the value "1" under the GOP structure tab.

The other stuff on your post has been answered...
