  1. I'm converting succesfully my divx into xsvcd. The quality is good but i want to know if i could use a lower bitrate with the same result. I'm using about 3000 to trasform 2cd's divx rip without loss quality. For example: if i want to encode a divx of 1600 kbps could i set the svcd encoding at the same bitrate without loss quality ? Any suggestion?

if you lower the bitrate, you will not get the same quality.
but, you might find that if you do VBR 4 pass with CCE, and use a bitrate calculator to figure out the avg. bitrate to use, you might get quality that you will find to be *almost* as good, and probably will be able to get quality that you will think is good enough.
