OK, time to display my ignorance for all the world to see.....
What exactly is macrovision and how is it manifest?
I have a Logix 3300D DVD player playing through my VCR so I can record the movies on tape. I thought macrovision was supposed to stop this!? The only thing I get is the picture sometimes gets brighter then darker. Is that it?
I bought the player new so nobody else has messed with it and all I have done is to make if region free.
Perhaps someone could shed some light......?

lol, of course that is what Macrovision is, bright and dark, to prevent you from copying copyright materials.

What you are seeing is Macrovision in action. Macrovision doesn't PREVENT you from copying, it just makes the copies "pretty bad". As the tape degrades, the swings from light to dark will only get worse.
Since you have just recorded the DVD, you probably haven't watched the tape all the way through. If you do, you will see just how annoying Macrovision can be. -
Ahh, so thats it...
Thanks guys.
Now, does anyone know how I can get rid of it....?Spence. -
I originally said there was a hack in the hack list, but I apparently was incorrect.
sorry guys.
