Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between Ulead's Video Studio 6 and Ulead's DVD Movie Factory? I own Video Studio 6 which has a DVD writer plug-in. I downloaded the trial version of DVD Movie Factory and noticed no difference in the DVD authoring and recording phases. In fact it seems that Video Studio is more comprehensive in its editing capabilities.
Also, I would appreciate anyone with information about DVD Slideshow. I can make slide shows with Video Studio. What does this other program add?
Thanks

I've thought the exact same thing! You're exactly correct!
These other products are just stripped down and or dumbed down versions of the same software.
I suppose it's good for some and probably necessary for Ulead to complete with similar products that have limited capabilities. For the money, I don't think there is a better video editing software out there than VideoStudio 6.
I think it's obvious that MediaStudio Pro is their full strength video editing software and all other editing products are just marketing spin offs.Evil flourishes when good men do nothing. -
I have not used VideoStudio 6 so I can't speak to it's features from use. First DVD MovieFactory is an Authoring program not editing. DVDMF provides only minimum editiing capabilities (Ulead calls it collecting not editing) and basic authoring. Two of the key differences between VS5 & MSP6.5 DVD Plug-in Authoring and DVDMF was DVDMF allowed you to create multiple titles (two level menus) and change the chapter thumbnails. Does VS6 DVD Plug-in authoring allow you to create two level menus and change the chapter thumbnails? Looking at the VS6 User's Manual it does not but the manual may no be correct.
Bottom line: If you want to do editing you should buy VS6 or MSP6.5 if Ulead is your choice. Additionally, If you want to do some creative authoring you need to buy DVDMF or DVDWS.
