    I am just wondering if I need a DVD rom to rip DVD----> divX but when I pop the dvd into my cd-rw drive it just ejects it out I am a huge divx downloader but I dont know howto rip

    p.s. I am using windows XP

    I agree with scouse, you do need a DVD-rom to rip DVD's. The hardware of a CD drive is unable to read the DVD, not the software. Break down and but a DVD-rom, but look for a used one first.

    marcusaxavier is exactly right...just buy a cheap DVD drive, it's the only way to go
