    Hi, I recently downloaded some episoded of a TV show. I'm running WinXP with the preview pane on the side. When I click on the files, the preview area shows the first frame like it should. However, when I double click on the files (MPEGs), WMP opens and says it is trying to connect to the codec server, but I always get an "error downloading codec" message and the file plays, but it only plays the audio, why is that?

    Where can I get the codec I need (and how do I know what codec I need?)

    WMP 7 ?
    It hates hacked MS codec's, I use the original MediaPlayer 2
    Or even Vdub

    If the codec is alread installed then it should play, but like I said it sometimes refuses...
