  1. Currently i'm mainly using

    - https://9xbuddy.com (Website)
    - JDownloader
    - Video DownloadHelper (Browser Plugin)

but these become incompatible with more and more sites every single day.

When i was still using Windows 2 years ago i also used a program called "TubeDigger" which i just tried to install using Wine but unfortunately it crashes if you try to open a website in the built in browser. I tried this fix but it did not work: https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=36417

Are there any alternatives for Linux to download videos from random tube sites or am i stuck setting up a Windows VM or Dual Boot? (Which i would really like to avoid)

There is also a (paid) desktop app from 9xbuddy aswell. https://123sudo.com/desktop/9xbuddy
Any experiences with that? Does it support way more sites reliably like the free web version USED TO ?

  2. There is no one tool for everything. Use different ones.
What web resources can't you download from?

Well it used to be that at least one of the tools i mentioned worked pretty much 99% of the time. (99 out of 100 websites)
    Not so much anymore...

I cannot really give you explicit examples but it's mostly porn tube sites.
    One example would be bestcam.tv

  5. Thanks for the replies/suggestions!

This works and this one works aswell https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hls-downloader-extension/
but it outputs a .ts video file so you have to convert that if you want .mp4 etc.
So i will stick to the chrome extension for now.

I will try the other suggestions once i come across a video i have trouble downloading.
