Problems playing selfmade VCDs on my Toshiba SD 900E

I don't know why it doesn't work. I've created a DVD in a DVD Authoring Tool and burned it on a CD-RW. But my DVD-Player says everytime "DISC ERROR". I tried it with selfmade VCD too. A VCD from my PC Magazine also don't work. But then I tried a VCD I downloaded in the past and this VCD work.

I've made a fault. The CDs that don't work are all SVCD. I just made a normal VCD and it worked. Not working are the SVCDs and when I burn in DVD Format on a CD. But my DVD-Player supports SVCD and of course the DVD Format.

are you sure that your player supports minidvd? www.vcdhelp.com/minidvd.htm

Its written that the Player doesnt support VCD and miniDVD, but in the front Display i can see an S in front of the VCD and behind is written VD. Maybe theres option to update the player.

Sorry I mean its wirtten that he not support SVCD and miniDVD.
Then I have just another Question. Its wirtten that it's supporting DVD-R. Does this mean that he can play the DVD that I create at the PC or is this only for playing MP3s?
