Hello guys and girls.

In the past I did this with several un-linked devices, which came with the problem of synching the footage during editing. I ended up blaring a horn when all the devices were recording and using the audio track to sync the different recordings.

I am about to start recording and editing footage again and would like to use linked devices so that they all start and stop at the same time. I am still going to edit on resolve but it makes sense to use linked devices

I am hoping someone out there has an idea of what linked cameras I should consider. My thoughts are:-
- I will not be streaming. All footage will be edited on resolve or moviestudio
- 4K is not necessary, 1080 HD ish is what I’m aiming for
- the recordings will be centred on vehicles; main shot will be from distance with whole car and surroundings in shot (this will be manned and not necessarily need to be linked to the others) two shots will be views from either side of the car, probably magnetically mounted on the outside of the front or rear doors and one or two shots will be from inside the car. So, 4 or 5 devices all shooting different angles of the same event. Think top gear reviews of a car and you’re probably close to what I am thinking.
- on placing/fitting the cameras I can focus them and then they will not need refocussing?
- budget is tight, sub £1000 if possible.

Is there something out there that will work?

I have begun looking around but am mostly finding security/cctv devices.

TIA for any ideas or suggestions.

Cheers
Karl
