    i have .avi files thet i was make in premier after i capture them from my Sony DV Camcorder.( the files are in DV-1 format )

    now i want to convert them to mpeg-2 useing TMPGEnc to Burn them in to my new Pioneer DVR-A04. but avry time i tria to open the fils ib TMPGEnc i gut this error "file "test.avi" can not open ,or un supported".
    I find help in the convert guide thet say... " If you have problem open DV video, DC30+,MJPEG captured video or any AVI VFW
    Then try to change the settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the AVI VFW and increase the priority to 1 and try open the video. " but it's won't help......

  2. I believe that's your problem...you need to capture in DV-2 if I'm not mistaken. I've seen other posts on your problem. If you try capturing in DV-2, you should be able to load up the .avi in TMPGEnc. If you need a template for your home video, just let me know. I think I've found one that works really well after MUCH trial and error. I have a Canon ZR30MC that I shoot my video with and then send it via FireWire to my Puter using Prem6 to capture....then I edit and convert with TMPGEnc. However, the downside is, unless you have a fast computer, it takes approx 8 hours for every 18mins of DV .avi. I only have a P-II 450, so it takes me forever. Usually, I just set up my projects before I go to sleep, reboot my computer to free up resources, Batch Encode, go to work the next morning and when I come back, voila!....my .mpgs are ready to burn.
