  1. im looking to buy a new tv card. what im wondering is are there any out there that work well with winxp, or is winxp just not good with tv cards. i currently have an ati wonder. ive been happily capturing with it on my old win 98 system. I put it in my winxp system and things have not been going well. i cannot run virtual dub properly to capture, and often when im watching tv the sound will go out. then i have to restart it, which is an annoyance. anyway, in conclusion, im looking for a new tv card that works well with winxp.

    winxp system:

    1600 athlon xp

    win98:
    win98
    pentium I 266 mmx
    96mb ram

  2. Onboard components usually conflict with standard expansion cards. Your onboard audio probably has an interrupt conflict with some other part of your machine/box.

Try disabling the onboard audio and take the card out of your Win98 system, stick it in your XP system and then see if you have any conflicts.

It doesn't look like that ATI tuner is your problem, more than likely it's the onboard audio thats causing all of the problems. Then again it's an ATI card were talking about here.
