Just wondering if anyone had any advice/suggestions. The video turned out great, but no sound. Virtualdub appears incapable of ripping the audio from QT mov format.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Heya,

I'm getting the same problem. I'm trying to convert some MOV's to MPG using TMPGEnc and all I get is the video and no sound. I can't find anything to help me. I have about 3 MOV's to convert and it's driving me nuts.

Hopefully someone will read this that can offer us some help. I too am using TMPGen. I just tried to rip the audio out using CoolEdit 2000, but no luck.

  4. I suggest you register QuickTime and use its built in Export function which allows you to save a .MOV file as an .AVI which you can then encode using TMPGEnc.

I have done this often with no problems.

You can also use Adobe Premier (if you have it) to open the .MOV file and then save as an AVI (or encode using a plug in)

Thanks for the tip....I completely forgot about Premier. I never re-installed after my system crash a couple of months ago.

  6. Its because mov files have copy protection in the audio, what you do is convert your mov video file then go to www.download.com and get total sound recorder and run that and it will record the audio in the video then you just interleave the audio and video
