  1. Hey, did I read wrong or is it possible to make a SVCD 352x480? I've seen this mentioned several times. What advantages/disadvantages are there besides file size for using 352x480? Thanks for any info.

BTW - I hope this is the right forum for this. This might more appropriate for the Authoring/Burning forum...

  2. Short answer is NO. SVCD must be 480x480. You can make a video file that is 352x480, which IS a viable DVD resolution, while 480x480 is not. Quality difference is something you will have to decide on. Filesize will not change but you will be able to lower bitrate slightly.

  3. Well, you can make a CVD which is 352x480. You'd author it in the same fashion as an SVCD. Do a search on CVD, it has gotten a lot of attention here recently.

  5. Thanks for the info, guys.

Yeah kwag, I just read your PM a few minutes ago. I'll give the KVCD method a shot and see if it works on my DVD Player. Thanks for the link!

  6. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are shooting for DVD compatibility with that resolution, you need to stick to MPEG2.
