First off all , maybe i should ask.. What can you or cannot do with lookup tables ?

i'm messing around with 3d lut creator .. within Vegas movie studio

i think i've got to create a LUT for my input file and then put another LUT from a reference file

doesn't seam to have a lot of threads in VH about LUTs

i have lots of badly tranfered DV files to DVD , Could i match it with a Good tranfert even if it's not the same content

video lut is usually just a color transform correction curve. is use them all the time when shooting with canon dslrs. i use a cinestyle log profile in the canon and than use a cinestyle lut corection curve in vegas.

this is what it looks like for vegas.

  4. What did you mean by "badly tranfered DV files to DVD" ?

A LUT probably won't help you

  6. A LUT won't help with low quality issues - it won't help with low chroma resolution, or noise, or low bitrate problems, or just bad video

There are way to sort of roughly match the colors of the concert from a different better camera using LUTs, but if they are very different in characteristics - the less likely you are to succeed . But it's probably easier to match it manually or with color matching plugins. And a bad video will still look like bad video

In short, it won't help your situation, unless there is some other issue I'm missing with the "bad transfer" ?
