Can anyone advise me what tools to use to let know if an AVI file contains a Dolby AC3 soundtrack. Once I have located one, how do I extract the audio for writing to a DVD-RW?
I have DVDit PE which can handle writing DVD material with an AC3 soundtrack?
Sorry if this sound basic, but a new starter here.
    Thanks for any help.
    Cheers

load your avi into virtualdub, set the audio for direct stream processing, and file->save wav. it will save it with .wav extention, but it is just directly copying the file, and will actually still be a ac3 file--just rename to *.ac3.
