    is there a wire in the computer that if you dont have it in it will make your computer slower? because i just added a cdrw and i cant get my A: for floppy disk drive to work and my computer is much slower after it? thanks for any help.

    did you put it in yourself?
    did you perhaps put it on the same wire as your floppy? If so take it off that wire.
    put your burner as your secondary master, it might help.

    Just to make sure i'm understood corrctly, don't put it on the same wire as you floppy drive! put it as a master on a second ide wire.

    How could you put it on the same cable as a floppy drive, its got a different size connector.

    I'd never noticed sorry (i usaully learn by trying but i knew that would'nt work for software reasons, didn,t know it would work for physical reasons)
