  1. I'm getting a PocketPC pretty soon, and I need to know the best way to lower the quality of DivX movies so it will play on my Pocket PC with Pocket DivX.

I need to change the resolution to fit the small 240x320 screen. I would like to use VBR instead of CBR. Also I need to down-sample the audio to 64kbs joint-stereo to save space.

I tried doing all that with VirtualDub but I don't think I can do VBR. Also I can only choose stereo or mono for sound conversion, no joint stereo.

    Any help here?

Try Vidomi It can use divx 3,4,5, and Xvid. With two pass (VBR) encoding.

I use it for my Dream Cast (which use Pocket Divx Player) with 320x240 29.976 fps 48kbit dualchannel audio at 44hz. With bitrates between 700 and 200.
