When you copy a vcd on Nero, is the save option used when you want to save the movie data onto your hardrive, like a word document or something? And how much space does a movie take up, is it a good idea to save files like this on your hardrive? Also, is a vcd made up of mor than type of format (what is cdi, avi, asf, ext?)? I'm sure many of you have a very simple answer for this question, but I am at a loss.

  2. I'm not sure i understand your question very well so i'll answer what i think your asking.
When you use the save option with nero, it's more like an internet shortcut. it remebers where the files you are copying are and how they are to be set up in your cd. What you might mean you wanted to do is creat an image of the vcd so that you can either watch it with having the vcd in the computer or burn copies at your leisure while not maintaining a hard copy of it. I wouldn't recommend keeping images on your hard drive as they may take up to 800meg or so. irf you decide to do so tho to create an image you go to the recorder menu in nero select choose burner and the select image drive. Then burn as you normally would. it will ask you where you want to save the image.
    Hope that helps

Yes that did answer the question, thanks. Now if I wanted to send it as a file, what would be my next step? For your info, what I am trying to learn to do is to share files over the net. Will saving the image enable me to create a file that I can send to someone?

  4. You could send either an image or you ould extract the .dat file you'll find in the mpegav folder and send that. if the other person you want to send it to has nero the image might be better as it will avoid the other person the trouble of having to figure out how to make a vcd... or you can also extract the.dat file to mpeg you'd have to search the forum to know how to do that as i'm always told the way i do it is not good
