  1. okay ,i am converting a 99 min divx.avi to svcd..trying to fit it to 2- 80min
cdrs. i used the bitrate calculator for 99mins,2 80min cdrs,224 audio bitrate...it gave me a bitrate calculatiton of {1962} i encoded the whole thing and cut it in half with tmpgenc ...
well my cuts are just fine at 794mb but when i want to burn it,the image file shoots up to 903mb.. wtf? is there something im missing ?i thought the bitrate caluculator was suppost to figure that all out for you .taking into consideration that u'd might want to burn it..

anyway...what are you using to make your image? VCDEasy should work pretty well. also, you might want to encode the audio and video separately(or demux in TMPG), and use bbmpeg to mux and cut to file size, and set file size to 790 MB--you should be able to get the movie onto 2 CD's if you followed the bitrate calcualtor's advice. the other thing you could do is reencode the audio at 192, and then mux with video--if you are just too big for 2 discs, this might squeeze you in without noticible loss in quality.
