  1. Hey,
Been trying to use the hacks listed at this site and I am stumped by the phrase " place your player in standby mode" Sorry to to be a fucktard, but what does this mean? Is this a button on the remote or is a timeout after so many minutes of inactivity? Thanks for your help in advance.

  2. Ummm......Yea, It can Play VCD and SVCDs but......

    It can NOT play CDRs.....

The DVD players have to be able to read CDRs for them to work in the dvd players!

  5. I have the SAME player. Supposedly, there really isn't anything you can do in the service mode. You can look at stuff like laser usage and whatnot, but I haven't found anything to tweak.

Your player, by default, plays CDRW media, but will only play certain CDRs (members here mention Circuit City CDRs, but I haven't tried them yet). Some people can play SVCD, some can't. That probably depends on what programs they are using to author. My Sony player plays AUDIO and VCD media burned on Sony CDRWs. Its great! I've long since ditched VHS as a method of saving TV shows, etc.

Special note, my player so far has ONLY played VCDs burned from Nero 5.5.1.8. Everything else (Roxio, TSCV, even older versions of Nero) has caused a "C13" error and will not play.

    Good luck!
