Using MKVTOOLNIX (43.0) on Windows 7 x64
I have a MKV source file. The package has Video, Audio, and English Subtitles.
The Subtitle track is set as follows: "default track" FLAG set to "Determine automatically". "Forced track" FLAG set to "No".
I want to end up with the Video having Hard Coded English Subtitles.
So, I highlight Subtitles and set the "default track" FLAG to "Yes", and the "Forced track" FLAG to "Yes".
I don't see any other settings I can change.
I start "multiplexing", expecting to see the resulting Video with Subtitles displayed.
Instead I just get the Video and Audio, but no Subtitles.
I can't figure out what I am doing wrong here.
Any help would be very appreciated, as this is driving me mad.

MKVToolnix cannot create hard coded subtitles. You are muxing soft subs into the MKV file but they are still soft. Your player must support soft subs in the format of the subs and it must support soft subs muxed within the container (as opposed to a separate file).
