  1. HI,
I am as new as they come. I bought a sony minidv camera and have a sony computer with a DVD-rw drive. Here is my question. I am able to capture the video onto the computer fine, but when I burned to the cd it would not play in my dvd player. Is there a program that will allow me to do all the processes at once? The computer came with adobe premiere, dvdit, movie shaker. I captured using the movie shaker.

I burned the cd just using windows xp data. Thanks for the help and being so ignorant.

    Wow I'm jealous.

I've read some negative comments about what Sony does that is not up to spec on things. I suggest reading the historical entries at google, google groups, 'rec.video.desktop' using your web browser got this news group on usenet.

You can participate via google by registering, or if you have newsgroups on your computer I gave you the name. This is my suggestion.

Did sony give you a sample to burn to dvd or something? There are a lot of little things that may be wrong, so I myself can't help too much.

You have to format these things exactly right, because even the most simple things may be wrong.

http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvd.htm has a sample DVD and a link to authoring guide.

But also http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/dvimag/minidv/ is your support link.

Feel free to return to this discussion thread to inform others how you fixed it.

Could also be that your DVD set-top player will not accept the burned disk....

Did you check the compatibility database on this website???

  4. I will try to look at your groups you posted. When I burned the mpeg file, I did not do it in VCD format. I have not been able to get the files to burn in VCD format. I only have recordnow dx. From what I have been reading, I need to get nero.

This all seems so frustrating. My dvd player does accept all formats, as there is a sticker on the unit.
