the camera is a usb device and you can copy the pictures/video off it just like any usb storage device. or take out the memory card and use a card reader connected to the computer. if you just want to copy the pictures/video to dvd as data files then use any burning software like imgburn.

I Assume the camera uses a SD card. You just need a SD card reader for your PC to transfer the card data.
Or some cameras have a output cable setup, usually USB that can transfer the data.
SD card readers are usually faster.

You can go to the Canon site for some software. https://driver-canon.com/canon-eos-rebel-t6-driver.html

For burning to a DVD, photos or video? Do you want a regular DVD playable on a set top DVD player?
If so for video, AVS2DVD would be one way. You could also use a slideshow creator for DVD playback.

Or you can burn a DVD as data with ImgBurn, with no formating, just the video clips and photos.
This may not play on a set top player.

If you need to edit or correct the photos, Gimp photo editor (https://www.gimp.org/) is one freeware choice.
It's similar to the pricey Adobe Photoshop.

For video editing, depends on the format and what editing is needed. AVIDemux is one freeware choice. VirtualDub2 also.

Thanks everyone, Just the answers I needed, It does have a SD card and it came with a card reader and USB cable, I don't think I will burn as a Data DVD if it might not play on a set top player since I will share with family members, What is your choice of software for creating Slideshows?
