can i rip the sountrack(songs only) off a dvd

have converted to svcd sucessfully but would like to have sountracks as mp3s as well

More information is needed. If you're using a mac you could extract the ac3 files and convert directly to .mp3...however, if you're on a PC then I can offer no help.

If you are talking about all the audio, voices,music, sound effects, you can just rip off the AC3 tracks and convert, however if you mean just the back up music, like the score or songs playing in the backround, then no. You technically could, you would rip. convert to mp3 or wav and then use an audio editor to take out all the data you dont want. This would be a waste of time and effort and the quality would be low usually. Just try to track down the soundtrack and download it directly.

thanks for the info ,i was kinda hoping the the songs would be on in a file of their own ,but realised it might be a slim hope
