Hell.. the DVD-611 can't even play CD-R music discs.... is there a mod-chip I can buy to correct this.... or does anyone know of a place that sells SILVER CD-R media?

I have a Samsung DVD-709 and there are only 2 kinds of cd's that you are gonna be able to get on that dvd player. 1 is any kind of re-writable cd! the other is a media called STI CDR's and the only place that i've been able to find them is at circuit city, or on the internet, samsung dvd players have no problem with STI CDR's! the do take like 30-45 secs to load on cdr's though, and make sure that your movie is in VCD 2.0 Format or it won't work at all! believe me, thats the BIG problem that i'm having! Good luck!

i myself have an apex660, but my girlfriend's family has the samsung 611, so i am very interested in making discs playable on both.

i have gotten roughly 250 of those sti-digital media cds free after rebates @ circuit city.

tell me jaysen...can the 611 or 709 in your case, play svcd? i sure hope so!

    thanks!
