I have been reading the forum for weeks and have not found this problem. I am converting a Divx file with VirtualDub. I use the guide divx to vcd. I have the huge wave audio (no compression, 44K) and also the original avi video source also from VirtualDub ( Direct stream video) I load the AVI and WAV into tmpeg and if I use NTSC the audio is horrible but the video looks great. If I use NTSC Film the sound is great but the video is choppy. Any suggestions?? I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Matthell
May the Force be with you all.
(I read the book, if movie is half as good we will not be disappointed!!!)

you might want to use 2lame as external tool, or try BeSweet(w/GUI) and do video only in TMPG and use TMPG to multiplex later. -
Hey Fantomlord,
Thanks for th reply. I use Vdub to extract the audio as a huge wave. And vdub to extract the video(avi) Then I load the video avi into TMPG video and the wav into the TMPG audio. If I encode with NTSC FILM all the is well other than a choppy look. IF I try to get a smoother video with 29.97fps and use NTSC then the audio is noisy and the compliance rule comes on in Nero when I try to burn the NTSC MPG.
I beleive that my source videos whether a movie or a video clip or music vid are all 29 fps. Most are from divx files. Some have very poor audio so I am not worried about that but the ones that are in 44K from the start should not be a problem.
So let me be sure of something.... if I encode the VIDEO only and then multiplex it with audio later, all should be ok with using NTSC?? Do I use TMPG to multiplex?? I have a friend who NEVER uses NTSC FILM. He has great luck with NTSC no matter what he is encoding. It is my only choice.
Thanks for the help and I will try some things when I get home from work.
Take care.
Matt
