  1. I have some programs pinned to the taskbar on Windows 10. Some programs, when you click on them, seem like they open up the same program twice. So it shows the icon twice. Most other programs will just have one icon when you open them. Why do some programs like Avast and MWB, show two of the icons, almost like you are running it twice?

They may be opening different parts of a program or parts of a linked program. Just delete the weird icons you don't use.

EDIT: I re-read the original post and I should have said 'unpin' instead of 'delete'.

  3. I can’t delete the icons. If I do, it will say that the shortcut is missing.

IIRC, Difference is apps that support MDI (multiple document interface) ot "tabbed" APIs vs those that don't.
Not worth getting worked up about. Certainly wouldn't delete icons for that reason.

Try updating your video drivers. Seem to fix some of the shit Microsoft screwed up for me.
If it feels good, do it.

  6. There have been some issues with Avast and recent Win10 updates. Make sure that you're running the latest version of Avast. (and update your graphics drivers as Backpain suggested.)

Both GeForce and Radeon drivers need to be updated. It seems that Microsoft programmers have to keep their jobs so they invent problems while trying to make things more complicated for themselves. Then they have to make more security updates because of their poor programming skills. A never-ending battle of wits versus stupid and stupid is winning.
If it feels good, do it.
