I am going from Sony Trv16 handicam mini dv camcorder, through Panasonic DMR e75v to my Hauppauge Colossus 2. But first, testing on output to the TV:
The quality is great on the TV directly from Handicam camcorder, but not through the DVR unit, it is noticeably worse. grainy and washed out colors.
What can I use as better pass thru device to get better quality and to stabilize the video.
I need to go to component as the Hauppauge card is component in.
Thanks

Connect the output of the DVR to the TV rather than the Colossus. How does it look?

Yes, I tried both. Directly form camcorder to TV and it was decent. Then from camcorder through the Panasonic DVR to TV and washed out colors and grainy.
So I assume it is a camcorder that is bringing down the resolution? What is best to use as pass through?

 Thanks for your help
