I have had problems getting an avi to MPG2 and now it tells me that the trial has elapsed and I would like to keep trying before I buy it. Does anyone know of a way around the MPEG-2 trial period on TMPGEnc short of purchasing it? Thanks.

Doing a reinstall won't work (they're not that gullible !)
However, try moving your system clock back a year ....... haven't tried it on the latest version, but it worked on my 2.52plus.
Oh yeah, one last thing, do buy it when you're happy with the encoding you get. It all helps keep the scene alive and also maybe persuades companies such as CinemaCraft that charging 4 figure sums for software encoders is not really viable anymore !!
Hope this helps
