I am trying to do a capture of a vhs tape that someone has lent me. I am connecting my combi TV/VCR to my AIW 7500 via the composite input on the breakout box. When i play the tape and view it on my pc it flashes light and dark like it has macrovision protection, but this is not an original tape it is a copy. So it cant be macrovision can it ?
I tried installing stinkys macrovision hack but the picture went black and white and rolled even on TV channels which were ok before. So I uninstalled it.
Any ideas ?

The only way is to use one of those "Video Stablizer". Just do a search for them. I use one called SEMA SCC.

Yes, a copy can still have macrovision on it. Generally the ways around it don't remove it they just don't recognize it while the copy is being made.but this is not an original tape it is a copy. So it cant be macrovision can it?

Found the problem, it was an NTSC tape.
