  1. I am trying to do a capture of a vhs tape that someone has lent me. I am connecting my combi TV/VCR to my AIW 7500 via the composite input on the breakout box. When i play the tape and view it on my pc it flashes light and dark like it has macrovision protection, but this is not an original tape it is a copy. So it cant be macrovision can it ?

I tried installing stinkys macrovision hack but the picture went black and white and rolled even on TV channels which were ok before. So I uninstalled it.

    Any ideas ?

  2. The only way is to use one of those "Video Stablizer". Just do a search for them. I use one called SEMA SCC.

Yes, a copy can still have macrovision on it. Generally the ways around it don't remove it they just don't recognize it while the copy is being made.
